The Challenge
The AV company was introducing 5-6 new products annually and was upgrading dozens of its existing products once to twice a year. The Solution
Infinitest was brought in by the AV product company to automate the testing of its large number of products. With Infinitest and a smaller number of resources, the test team was able to increase the test coverage, the quality of the released product, reduce the duration of the test cycle, lowering the cost of testing while providing release predictability to the management team.
Infinitest not only accelerated the process, but also significantly improved the efficiency and precision of the testing process. It also provided an excellent set of reports, that included full test results and allowed easier troubleshooting of failure points.
The Result
Due to the large number of software releases and the potential impact on the company’s revenues, the AV company decided to use a conservative approach for introducing Infinitest to its product testing. They started using Infinitest on one product with the goal of obtaining great results before scaling up the Infinitest automation across all products. The results for the first product that used Infinitest exceeded expectations. In a short period, one test engineer was able to create more than 300 end-to-end codeless test cases, where each was comprised of 50 - 300 test steps. The ease of use helped increase the pace of test creation and reduce total test creation time by more than 50% as well as significantly reduce the test team size. The test execution was even better. Parallel tests execution in the cloud reduced execution time by more than 80 percent!
